Funeral Announcements for February 24, 2021

There will be no formal services for Thomas "Smitty" Smith Jr., 66, of Sedalia.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date. A private burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service for Ida Lorraine (Hampton) Walter, 97, of Sedalia, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Heckart Funeral Home. The funeral home requires social distancing and face coverings.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no services for Donna Janene Maacks, 71, of Sedalia. Arrangements are in care of Heckart Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Alvin Gene Cook, 78, of Sedalia, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Heckart Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with military honors by the U.S. Air Force and VFW Post 2591. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

A celebration of life for Larry Leroy Howard, 72, of Sedalia, will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

A funeral service for Julia Mae Turley, 88, of Sedalia, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at Rea Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

A private family Celebration of Life service for Ramona K. Bolade, 61, of Sedalia, will be held at Freewill Baptist Church.

A funeral service for Jesse Vansel Jr., 70, of Sedalia, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Rea Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Union Williams Cemetery, Cole Camp.

The family of Steven Higdon Hurt, 68, of Sedalia, will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at Heckart Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects and sign the guest book between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at Providence Cemetery.

Arrangements are pending at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel for Marie Dabner, 101, of Carrollton, formerly of Sedalia.
