Gary Sinise has been a long time advocate for the Armed Forces and what they do. When he took on the role of Lt. Dan in the movie Forrest Gump, he probably didn't expect to be doing his other love of playing music to take off like it did, but he has had fun playing whenever he can for our servicemen and women.

Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band played the 5-Bay Hangar at Whiteman with the USO Tour last night. He also promoted the Gary Sinise Foundation, which has a mission to serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.

This was Gary Sinise's second visit to Whiteman Air Force Base in recent years and he truly appreciates those in uniform and what they stand for. In addition to Whiteman, he is touring Minot AFB and Malmstrom AFB Montana this weekend.

The Missouri State Fair will show appreciation for our military on Sunday, August 16. Active duty personnel, veterans and delayed entry recruits with appropriate id will get in free; spouses and dependent children will get in for $1, plus $5 off carnival ride wristband for military and immediate family with coupons available at the admission gate.
