‘Grand Slam’ Open House For New Baseball Stadium Postponed
Sedalia Parks & Rec said on Thursday morning that the Grand Re-Opening of Liberty Stadium and the first annual Sedalia Local Area All-Star Game will be rescheduled due to "unmet construction deadlines."
The event was originally scheduled for May 30. It is now June 19 with new times scheduled for the events that are planned.
"Despite our hopes that these timelines would be honored, certain aspects of the stadium are not yet complete. It is important to us that our celebration showcases the stadium in its best form for our community.

"The contractor has assured us that, with the exception of the parking lot, the stadium will be ready for public tours on Thursday, June 19, from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by guest speakers at 6:15 p.m., and the Local All-Star Game at 7 p.m. We invite you to join us in celebrating the renovations of the stadium.
"Thank you for your understanding and support. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to create a memorable experience for all," a press release concluded.
