Grems Suffer 6-2 Loss in Clinton Tourney
Another poor first half doomed the Gremlins in the first round of the Clinton Soccer Tournament.
Playing tournament host Clinton, Sacred Heart could not find any organization in the mid-field and gave up six first half goals.
Clinton players repeatedly made runs through the midfield unmarked and found the back of the net.
The second half was a better effort for the Gremlins, but the six goal deficit was too much to overcome. Francisco Rojas (5) and Samuel Bello (1) each scored in the second half to bring the final score to 6-2.
Although the final outcome was extremely disappointing, Coach Jones was proud of his young team for not quitting in the second half and fighting to the finish.
The Gremlins are now 2-3 on the season and play Raytown on Thursday night. --Submitted.
