Sacred Heart Blanks Smithton, 5-0
The Sacred Heart Gremlins soccer team chalked up their first Kaysinger Conference win, beating Smithton 5-0 Tuesday night.
The Gremlins came to Smithton ready to play as senior Jackson Manning started things off with a goal just 5 minutes into the game. He was assisted by junior Ramses Rivera-Montoya.
Just 5 minutes later, sophomore Yovanny Cardenas was fouled in the box and Jackson Manning converted the PK into another goal. Gremlins up 2-0. Senior George Bain scored before halftime on an assist from Jackson Manning.
In the second half, George Bain scored his second goal of the evening at 33:47 and then set up a beautiful assist for a Jackson Manning header.
Final score: Gremlins 5, Smithton 0.
Sacred Heart hosts St. Paul Lutheran (Concordia) Thursday at Clover Dell Park.
