S-C JROTC Parade Honors Area Veterans

History doesn't lie, and we need to keep an eye on it before it slips and we fall into a repeat of what has happened to us in the past.
Veterans from all around are a fantastic example of getting their views of war they have been in, or just a different experience than what people now wouldn't be able to know without these veterans.
I mean, honestly, think about it, would you rather hear about stories that may or may not be true? Or read it from a book that takes forever to get to a point that ends up leaving you confused? Or you can always go to a veteran who's willing to talk about their experiences and share a piece of history that people possibly don't really know about.
Veterans day is a day that needs to be celebrated to teach kids all around how they got was they have now in our country that millions have died for whether it was to protect, keep an alliance, make new alliances, or just us making a stand and showing we can be a country to recon with, and this is not only with the kids if for the adults all around too.
The time keeps coming and they keep changing, but a thing that we can't leave behind is our history, even if it's a mistake or a proud victory for us to take, we can not forget how we got here and have what we have now.
In our parade, there are Police, Firetrucks, Ambulances, motorcycle groups, and so many more fun and exciting things/ people. But honestly, the best part is the Smith-Cotton High School, the Jr. High 8th grade program, and our 5th grade Tiger Tots!
In the parade, we had the High-School Band playing, we had a 12-man color guard performed by our cadets, we had our companies marching, along with 5th and 8th grade and their support, you would also see our cadets carrying our flag, making sure leaves and whatever else were to stay off of what we have fought for.
You might ask why we do this. And the answer is simple really, we do this to show how proud we are in our veterans and our country, this is our home, and it's the least we could do for the ones that have fought or the ones gone fighting now, without them we wouldn't have a home because they did something that most people wouldn't be able too, and that's them risking their life for everyone in America to keep our freedom, they are or were our protection and if you were to go up to one and ask them they would most-likely tell you they would do it all over again.

We do what we do to keep the spirit alive and show that people are and do pay attention, and that what they do doesn't go to shame or was for “nothing” we do it to show that they still have people on their side and they always will.
Thank you to all the Veterans and people serving now, your hard work and dedication are not going to waste, and we do see everything you do.
Thank you, KSIS, for making these articles possible.
Go Smith-Cotton, 8th grade and fifth grade Tigers!
