A 30-year-old man from Armstrong, Mo., was killed in a head-on crash in Howard County last night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2003 Chevy 2500 driven by 30-year-old Ethan Fuemmeler of Armstrong crossed the center line on Missouri 5, two miles south of Missouri 3 at 9:02 p.m., and struck a northbound 2004 Ford F-350 driven by 62-year-old Philip J. Dicus of Salisbury.

Dicus attempted to avoid hitting the Chevy by exiting the right side of the roadway. Fuemmeler exited the left side of the roadway and struck the Ford head-on.

Fuemmeler was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 by Howard County Coroner Frank Flaspohler. Fuemmeler was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report. The body was taken to Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow.

Both vehicles were totaled.
