One thing that Sedalians truly love is good food.  A popular saying around these parts is that on every corner you'll see a church or a restaurant.  That's not just in Sedalia, but all over Missouri, and particularly in Mid-Missouri. It's a common passion that everyone has very strong opinions about that's often steeped in tradition.  This weekend, another tradition shows our love for food and our love for helping our fellow man.I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for a good cookout.  I think it's just something about summer, something we all have a distinct pleasant memory of in our own lives.  So when a cookout comes long, everyone looks forward to it.  Now, we can look forward to putting delicious food in our faces and also helping people out.

The Hughesville Fire Department will have their annual Fish Fry and Hog Supper. It’ll be held on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 5:00 p.m. on.  They’ll have it at the Fire Station on Cravens Street.

I got to talk to Brad Walburn from the Fire Department about the upcoming event, and just what they're raising money for and why it's so important.

As you can tell, it'll be a great time for you and your whole family.  They’ll have a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing, which also helps bring excitement. The cost is a free will donation, so whatever you can afford is fine.  For more information, or if you want to donate to the silent auction, call 660-826-6885.

Hog-ily yours,

Behka
