I want to say before anything else that I write here, that on almost every other front, my boss seems like a normal guy.

But... this week I noticed something odd.  Or, I should say, odd to me.

Yes, that is a box of cereal in the refrigerator here at work.  Now I don't have to get all Detective Behka here, because I know who it belongs to.  Last week my boss posted on his social media about buying said box of cereal.

Now I get that some people keep some things in the fridge, and some keep other stuff in the pantry.  Some people don't put ketchup in the fridge, but I do.  Husbando doesn't like to keep his soda cans in the fridge, but I do. Some people don't put their Thin Mints in the freezer, (shudder) but I do.

I have never in my life seen someone put cereal in the fridge.  Never. It has never even OCCURRED to me to do it.  It has absolutely never been something I have thought to do.  And yet, here it is, before my eyes.

It has to be something about cold cereal keeping the milk colder. Or maybe it's a "keeps it fresher longer" thing.   It's probably a "don't knock it til you try it" kind of situation. Has it blown my mind? Yes. Has it confused me a little? Yes. Has it made me curious enough to maybe put my Honey Nut Cheerios in the fridge this weekend?  ............Maybe.   Am I going to ask him why he does it? Absolutely not. It's ten times funnier if he tells me about it AFTER he reads this.

Is this a Southern thing? He's from the south.  But then, my grandparents on my dad's side were both from the south, and they never did that. I watch Trisha's Southern Kitchen every week, and I've never seen cereal in her fridge. I even asked Laney about it, and she's hip to everything - but she'd never heard of it either.

My dad eats Raisin Bran, too, that's like, his favorite cereal. I wonder if it's JUST a Raisin Bran thing. Like, only this cereal goes in the fridge.  Maybe I'll tell him to try it. Who knows, maybe it's an unorthodox glimpse of genius. I wonder if other things should go in the fridge now.  Crackers? Chips? Tuna fish cans?  Wait, that might be a good idea. I don't think I've ever done that, but that might work.  Oh man, does my poor fridge even have ROOM to try all this stuff?  I don't think so.

Have you ever seen someone do this? Have you done it yourself? Ketchup - does it go in the fridge or the cabinet? Cereal - does it go in the fridge or in the cabinet (or more specifically in the Cramer/Moreland households, on the top of the fridge)?

Raisinly yours,

Behka
