Illinois Man Drowns In Crawford County

An Illinois man drowned Saturday in Crawford County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

24-year-old Dalton D. Newkirk of Highland, Illinois was swimming in Huzzah Creek, just above the confluence at 5:35 p.m., when he began to struggle, went under and did not resurface.

The body was later recovered by family members and transported to Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba.
