14 Missouri Places Hiding Stories Most People Never Heard

Missouri is full of places with a rich history. Some are famous around the world, but the vast majority include stories that most people have never heard.

What I love about these stories is they're not based on urban legends, rumors or mysteries. It's provable history that, in some cases, dates back centuries. These are the stories that you'd be wise to ask locals about, especially those that have lived there most of their lives. In some cases they'll add their own twist to the details of what's publicly known. That's when Missouri history truly goes next level.
