Guys, there's a lot coming up next month.  Now that school is back in session, the weather will start cooling down before long, and that means stuff to do! 

But of course... how do you keep all that in check?  How do you remember it all? I've got most of it right here, listed for you with links (if you're not sure how it works, you click on the part of each story that's a different color. Then, the link should appear that will tell you more about the event).  Of course, if I missed something, feel free to comment and tell us all about it.  Hey, if you want, we can do this on the regular. Just let me know what you're doin, 'yo.

I tried to go in order of when they're happening, at least by date.  There's stuff here in Sedalia, Warrensburg, and Green Ridge, etc.  Nothing KC or STL. Just stuff happening here in our general area.  Here we go.


A University of Central Missouri tradition that brings both the campus and community together for a day of fun, food and more, Get the Red Out is planned for 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 in Warrensburg. No admission is charged for activities that take place at the street fair at Holden Street between South and Clark streets on the west side of campus.


The Heckart Community Center will host a Mario Kart Tournament September 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It'll be held in Community Room C at the Heckart and they'll include lunch for you. Cost is $10 a person.


State Fair Community College and DeFeet.org will hold a 5K walk/run on Saturday, Sept. 9 on the Sedalia campus. The course will begin on the outside walking track near the soccer fields and loop through the rest of the campus.


Bark in the Park is scheduled from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM in Convention Hall at Liberty Park in Sedalia on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Bark in the Park is a family friendly event focused on your pets. Attendees can enjoy great booths and learn some new information about their pets. Bid on items in the silent auction. You can even bring a donation to support local animal rescues.

Open Door's 'Minute to Win It' Adult Game Night Challenge will be held on September 9th. Teams will have one minute to participate in fun, silly games. We will have door prizes, cash side games, raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle, a concession stand, and FUN! The cost is $120/team of up to 6 adults. All proceeds from the evening will go to help fight hunger in Pettis County. Registration is now through August 31st.


Sedalia Lions Club Donnie Hunter Memorial 11th Annual Figure 8 and Demolition Derby will be on September 9th. They will start the evening off with the Power Wheels race. Children 10 and under can bring their power wheels and compete in their own Figure 8 race. The adults are up next with with 6 heats of Figure 8 racing, followed with 3 B-Mains an the final Figure 8 Race. If any cars are still able to move we will have a Powder Puff Figure 8, where only females can drive in. This year we have added a compact demolition derby to the night.


Pettis County Community Partnership is hosting a Food Truck Frenzy on Friday September 15th from 3pm to 7pm in the State Fair Shopping Center. We will have tons of food, games and just all around good FUN! We will also be setting up an information booth so if you need resources or just want to know more about how we serve the community, we will have staff available to give you any information you need.


The Harvest Fun Fest will take place in Green Ridge on September 16th. They'll have a Parade, Craft Booths, Food, Games, Tractor Show, Car Show, and more.


Festival Latino will take place on September 16th. Please join us as we celebrate the Independence Day of Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, & Guatemala! Experience the parade to start off the celebration, folkloric dancing, food, games & more!


State Fair Community College’s Career Services and Missouri Job Center will host a free Job and College Transfer Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.


West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club Car Show will be held on September 23rd. Celebrating 50 years of West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club Car show in downtown Sedalia, Court House Square.


Hosted at the Craft Beer Cellar in downtown Sedalia, participants of the 4th annual Wings for Wags will enjoy 20+ unique wing flavors cooked by teams competing for the prized trophy, a wide range of craft beers on tap and available in the beer cooler, silent auction, raffle prizes, and fun with dogs! The event will take place on Saturday, September 23rd, beginning at 4:00 p.m.


The Kiwanis Kids Day in the Park will be at Paul Klover Park. Come by Saturday September 23rd, from 10-2!It's all free! No cost for lunch, the games, the goodies, any of it. It's all just a way for the Kiwanis Club to give a little fun to the kids.


 

Pumpkin Fest will take place at the Rupe Family Farms in Green Ridge on September 24th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Come join us for our first annual Pumpkin Fest! we will have pumpkins and mums galore. Food trucks, Dale Hollow Winery, bounce houses, full gift shop and wagon rides.


University of Central Missouri Theatre and Dance is pleased to announce the availability of 2023-2024 season tickets through Sept. 28. Season tickets include four mainstage productions and the spring dance concert for one low price of $80 for the general public; $60 for faculty, staff, senior citizens, and military; and $40 for non-UCM students and children age 5 and up. These prices include five shows for the price of four.


2023 Sedalia Chamber Piccadilly – Let’s Go Glamping will take place Thursday, September 28, 2023. Join us for a night under the stars at the Foundry 324 in Downtown Sedalia for the 2023 Sedalia Chamber Piccadilly! Please make plans to join us and the Sedalia Chamber as we Go Glamping! The Piccadilly Gala and Auction includes a delicious meal, a wonderful atmosphere, games, and the live Piccadilly Auction, which is played by bidding with quarters on items donated by local and regional businesses.


The State Fair Community College Athletic Department will host the 2nd annual Mouse Races fund-raiser on Sept. 30 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the races starting at 6:30 p.m.
