A couple of notes about the forecast: we've seen it before where the National Weather Service's prediction doesn't come true. Remember, their job besides predicting the weather, is to make sure we're aware of the potential of severe weather and flooding, so while some forecasters might be more reserved in their forecast, the National Weather Service wants us ready to go and be safe in case the severe weather hits.

The bottom line, make sure your sump pump is working and if part of your home or business is prone to flooding when we receive a lot of rain quickly, I'd be prepared for it possibly to happen if we get a lot of rain in a short time frame.

Parents who have kids in sports, keep your eye on the sky over the weekend and keep looking at updated forecasts, your kids' games may get canceled, yet, there could also be a window of good weather to get games in on Saturday and Sunday.

It seems like it could be a good weekend for indoor activities like curling up with a good book, playing board games, or binging a new to-you show on one of the streaming services.
