James “Jim” Oscar Kindle, Sr. 78, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his home. He was born on October 3, 1936 in Clinton, MO a son of Oscar and Opal (Arnold) Kindle, who preceded him in death.

On November 3, 1954 in Tulsa, OK, he was united in marriage to Shirley Marie Branum, who survives of the home.

James worked in the grocery business in Sedalia, Laurie, MO and Tyler, TX for a total of over 50 years.  He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Michael D. Kindle (Tonya) of Belton, MO, James O. Kindle, Jr. (Andrea) of Blue Springs, MO, Susan M. Schmieg of Sedalia and Tracy L. Sanders (Roy) of Bullard, TX; a special family member, Charles Schmidt of Bullard, TX; two sisters, Helen Heidrich (Les) of Fenton, MO and Julie Martin (Jack) of Era, TX; one brother, Tom Kindle of Gainsville, TX; twelve grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Nathan, Amanda, Chelsea, Mason, Collin, Tiffany, Jereme, James, Tanner and Kyndle and six great grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Egbert Kindle.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia with Pastor Jeremy Freeman officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Committal of the ashes will follow service at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran School or Church in care of the funeral chapel.
