A sentencing hearing was held this morning (Nov 30) pertaining to a Jury Trial that was concluded September 9th, 2016 in Pettis County.According to a press release from Phillip Sawyer's Office, 32-year old James M. Luckinbill, of Sedalia, was convicted of Assault in the First Degree resulting in Serious Physical Injury and Armed Criminal Action, stemming from a stabbing incident that occurred March 13, 2016 in the 200 block of South Quincy.

Pettis County Prosecuting Attorney, Phillip Sawyer presented the matter at trial and sentencing before the Honorable Robert Koffman, Circuit Judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit.  After hearing argument and recommendation from the Prosecution and the Defense, the defendant was sentenced to 22 years in the Department of Corrections on each count to be served. The Prosecution had previously established the defendant to be prior and persistent felony offender.
