Johnson County Ditches Mask Order Tonight

Johnson County Community Health Services will let their Face Covering Order expire effective at 11:59PM CDT tonight. In it's place will be will be a Public Health Advisory.

The Public Health Advisory strongly encourages individuals within Johnson County Missouri to:

• Continue to wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth to help protect yourself and others.
• Continue to physical distance when around others who do not live in the same house.
• Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces.
• Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
• Get a COVID-19 vaccination when available.

Johnson County Community Health Services advises that COVID-19 vaccines are effective at protecting individuals from getting severely ill. And those who are vaccinated can begin doing some things they may have stopped because of the pandemic. However, vaccinated individuals should still take precautions in public places and avoid crowds and poorly ventilated public areas.

JCCHS says businesses, organizations and other facilities like grocery stores, pharmacies, gyms, churches, community centers, libraries and schools where the public are entering, and social distancing cannot be maintained, have the right to implement additional precautionary measures including requiring a face covering to protect those in the facility.
