These reports were gathered from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office on July 16th, 2024. The reports therein are dated from July 1st, 2024 to July 16, 2024.


 

Friday, Johnson County Deputies were dispatched to an address in rural Johnson County for a report of an assault that had just occurred. An investigation was conducted on scene, with one male being arrested. David Miller, 40, from Leeton, was arrested on a charge of Assault in the 3rd Degree, and transported to the Johnson County Jail.


 

On July 6th, The Johnson County Deputies were dispatched to a report of domestic assault. Caleb Kannenberg, 23, of Warrensburg, was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault. Kannenberg was transported to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office for processing.


 

On the night of July 7th, Deputies responded to an address in rural Bates City to reference a domestic assault. During the investigation, it was learned the male subject has assaulted his fiancé several times throughout the day before she was able to contact law enforcement. Beau Tucker Devall, 32, of Bates City, was placed under arrest on a charge of Domestic Assault.


 

On July 12th, Deputies were dispatched to the Whiteman Air Force Base for a possibly wanted subject. On scene, it was discovered the female had an arrest warrant form out of state that was extraditable. Jane Maltsberger, 56, of Mount Vernon South Dakota, was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

On the morning of July 7th Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. While attempting to catch up to the vehicle, it drove away, turning down a gravel road and drove into a ditch. The driver was detained on site until the investigation was concluded, and they were released on scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.


 

On the night of July 14th, Deputies initiated a pursuit with a vehicle from a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Kayla Holbrook. Holbrook was placed into custody and arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Imprudent Driving, Driving While Suspended.


 

Sunday afternoon, Deputies took a fraud report call over the phone from Dale Conger. Conger reported a person on the line identified themselves with the Missouri State Police. The unnamed caller told Conger he was non-compliant and was required to post a bond. Believing the caller, he forwarded $300 through Paypal. After the fact, he realized it was a phone scam and called the Police. Information was taken, which gave the victim a report number to turn into Paypal in hopes he could be reimbursed.


 

Saturday night, Deputies were dispatched to rural Kingsville to investigate a report of trespassing. The reporting party stated they heard someone exit the woods behind their house, walk onto his driveway, and then walk back into the woods. The reporting party never saw the person, but had photographs from this security camera showing someone there. The photos were emailed to the JCSO. The investigation continues.


 

Saturday morning, Deputies were dispatched to a commercial break-in at Columbia Landcare, 93 NW D Highway. An employee advised a company truck and trailer had been stolen. On scene, Deputies saw the gate that was locked, was now bent, and the chain was cut. It is believed the suspects entered through the shop’s east entrance. Some of the items stolen were: a white 2022 For F250 Crew Cab that was hooked up to a Westco 18 foot flat bed trailer, a green John Deere Zero Turn riding lawnmower, and additional mowers and trimmers were stolen (but not all of them had serial numbers). All keys to the truck were accounted for, and the vehicle was entered into NCIC. The investigation continues.

Friday night, Deputies were dispatched to rural Kingsville in regard to a suspicious vehicle. The reporting party stated there had been a suspicious vehicle on his road since July 11th. An Officer was dispatched on that day, and stickered the truck. When the reporting party headed home, he observed the trailer the truck was on to be gone. Deputies made contact with the owner of the truck and found it was towed by Ron’s Towing. The owner of the truck did not want to press charges, as the vehicle was stolen multiple years ago and they never reported it.


Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance early in the morning on July 12 in Kingsville. The reporting party stated she has an abusive partner who has hurt her in the past. She claimed she was over the abuse and knew he had active warrant, and wanted him arrested*. She stated her partner aggressively put his hands on her neck and she was in fear of her life.


 

Last Thursday evening, Deputies were dispatched to a rural Garden City address to address a confirmed structure fire. One subject was taken into custody and transported to the detention center, pending formal charges.


 

On the afternoon of July 12th, a subject reported two different subjects were having a physical disturbance**. On scene, both the victim and witness statements indicated Charles Schroeder, had physically assaulted another party. Schroeder was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.


 

Deputies received a call while at the Sherriff's Office in reference to a mule being poisoned. The owner, Dusty Onwiler, stated the mule was poisoned in rural Leeton. The investigation continues.


 

Deputies took a burglary report on July 10th. The burglary took place in rural Holden between the afternoon of July 9th and the morning of July 10th.


 

Last Wednesday morning, Deputies were dispatched to the Warrensburg Police Department in reference to a report of a lost license plate. The reporting party advised she believed the license plate to her 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle had been lost somewhere between Warrensburg and their address in Holden. The license plate was last seen on the evening of July 6th.


 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of the 1100 block of NE 50 in Knob Noster on the evening of July 4th. The driver was identified as Ruby Lane Sapere, 67, of Knob Noster. Sapere’s driving privileges were suspended. Sapere was issued a citation for Driving While Suspended.


 

Last Tuesday afternoon, Deputies took a phone call from Compass Health, in regards to a possible Mental Health Evaluation and Ex Parte Service. It was alleged an individual was under the influence and had threatened law enforcement if they were to show up to serve his Ex Parte. Several phone calls to family members and Compass Health were made. The severity of the call was not as extreme as was originally reported. The individual was still needing to be served, and does have a history of domestic violence. Based on current information and speaking with family members, an informational report was filed by the Corporal for safety reasons.


 

On the night of July 8th, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of South West 2 Highway in Chilhowee. Deputies identified the driver as Jessica Nicole Robertson, 30, of Warrensburg. Deputies determined Robertson was intoxicated. Robertson was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Last Monday night, Deputies were dispatched to an address in rural Holden regarding an animal call. The reporting party wanted to speak to a Deputy about his goat being killed by his neighbor’s dogs. Deputies collected the information and advised the reporting party to send pictures to the JCSO.


 

Deputies were dispatched to the area of SE PP Highway and SE 251 Road in reference to an animal call last Monday evening. Dylan Distefano reported he had picked up a dog the night before that was on a gravel road. The dog was covered in grease and possibly had a broken hip. Distefano had contacted several of his neighbors, but no one had claimed the dog. Distefano advised he made contact with JCCD and was able to meet with WPD with the dog. The dog was then placed at the Old Drum Animal Shelter.


 

Deputies were dispatched to rural Centerview in regard to a case of harassment on the afternoon of July 5th. The reporting party stated her neighbor’s son was shooting fireworks into her back yard, and she was worried if it would cause a fire or hurt her dogs. Contact was made with the neighbor’s mother, and she stated she told her son to stop, and it would not happen again. Information was gathered for the report, and the reporting party provided pictures of the fireworks going off in her backyard.


 

Last Monday morning, Deputies were dispatched to a burglary that occurred at the Republic Foods, 1921 NW 50 Highway, in Lone Jack. The general manager of the store, Liza Cruze, reported the store was robbed over the weekend and approximately $100,000 worth of products were stolen.


 

Last Monday afternoon, Deputies were contacted regarding a trespassing complaint and a possible property damage investigation in the 1600 block of NW 350 in Holden.


 

On the evening of July 7th, Deputies responded to a residence in Chilhowee regarding an attempt to contact. One subject on scene was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Charles Lynn Wright, 50, of Chilhowee, was arrested for his FTA warrant on an original charge of felony Resisting Arrest. Wright was transported to the JCSO for booking and processing.


 

Last Monday morning, JCCR members conducted a traffic stop on BB highway near SW 11 Road in Warrensburg. The vehicle was pulled over initially for a registration violation. The driver was found to have several warrants for his arrest. One was issued by Johnson County in June of 2024 on charges of Driving While Suspended. Another two were issued by Johnson County for Speeding (26 MPH or More), and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Wijae Wichen Brown, 48, of Knob Noster, was arrested for his warrants and transported to the JCJ without incident. Brown is also suspected of Tampering charges with his Missouri registration for the vehicle.


 

Deputies observed a red 2013 Dodge Durango travelling east bound on NW 50 Highway in the NW 300 block, at a very high rate of speed last Monday evening. The vehicle was radar checked at travelling 75 MPH in a 65 MPH limit. The vehicle was stopped, and it was discovered the driver spoke no English. Checking the driver’s information, Dispatch showed his license was suspended. Eram Menson*** was cited for Driving While Suspended, and Failure to Provide Financial Responsibility. A Deputy remained to assist on scene while the driver and the passengers waited for a valid driver to arrive and take possession of the vehicle.


 

Last Sunday evening, Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of South-Central Avenue in Chilhowee regarding a confirmed structure fire. While on route, Dispatch advised witnesses on scene observed a “Tracy Jackson” running eastbound from the scene. On scene, a witness said he was standing outside and observed Jackson walking out of the address. The witness claimed Jackson told him he just set the house on fire, then took off eastbound. Several others on scene advised what he was wearing, and updates on his general description. The deputies later located the suspect in the 300 block of West 2nd Highway, hiding in the homeowner’s bedroom. Tracy Lynn Jackson, 40, of Chilhowee, was arrested on charges of felony Arson in the 2nd Degree and felony Burglary in the 2nd Degree. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety. The Missouri State Fire Marshall later took jurisdiction over this case.


 

Last Sunday afternoon, Deputies were dispatched to Chrisenberry Auto and Truck, 614 SW 2 Highway in Chilhowee, for a report of theft. The reporting party stated someone got into a storage container on the property and took various items. The victim said he had recovered most of the tools from a “Kim Danielson”, who said someone named “Chuck” asked him to get rid of them. The reporting party stated the only things till missing were seven Ertle brand model cars, which were valued at $50 each.


 

Deputies were dispatched to a theft at the Bell Brothers Farm in rural Warrensburg last Sunday morning. The reporting party called to advise someone stole their gray/tan 2004 Ford F-250 sometime between the night before and that morning. The truck was last seen with a flat bed trailer attached to it. The owner advised they had located the same trailer a few miles east of the farm. The truck’s information was entered into MULES as stolen.


 

On the evening of July 6th, Deputies were dispatched to the Old Glory Market Gas Station in Warrensburg regarding a domestic disturbance. While enroute, Dispatch advised the victim would be located in the parking lot in a red Dodge Charger. On scene, the victim claimed the suspect had left the scene. The victim claimed he had been hit on the head, and the suspect had strangled the victim has they were trying to leave. Deputies did observe injuries on the victim’s left leg, just above the knee. The victim claimed this injury was from the suspect throwing the victim’s cell phone and hitting the victim on the knee. Later, Officers spoke with Andrew James Corbin, 32, of Warrensburg. Corbin was arrested on charges of Property Damage in the 1st Degree and Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree.


 

On the afternoon of July 5th, Deputies were dispatched to a residence in rural Leeton in regards to a domestic disturbance in progress. The reporting party advised her boyfriend was preventing her from leaving his residence. She stated he had blocked her vehicle in with his four-wheeler. Deputies arrived on scene and obtained statements, and then separated the parties.


 

Deputies were dispatched to an address in rural Warrensburg on the afternoon of July 5th in regard to a suicidal subject. Dispatch advised that Compass Health Crisis Response Clinician was on scene with the patient. The clinician stated the patient was claiming they would “commit suicide by cop” if law enforcement showed up. Warrensburg Police assisted on scene. The patient was transported to the WMMC for treatment.


 

Deputies observed a driver fail to use their vehicle’s turn signal on the morning of July 5th in the 1300 block of NW 275 in Holden. Deputies identified the driver, found his license was suspended, he had no proof of insurance, and he had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Cass County on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender). Richard R. Foley, 43, of Raymore, was placed under arrest. Foley was transported to the JCSO to be processed.


 

On the morning of July 5th, Deputies were dispatched to an area in the SW 300 Road in Warrensburg to check the well being of an individual. The reporting party stated a man was drinking from a hose, had medical leads on him and appeared to be in distress. Deputies made contact with Zed Nmn Legrand, 36, of Joplin. Legrand showed to have a warrant from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on charges of Failure to Comply with Conditional bond, Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving Without a License. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety. Legrand was transported to the JCSO to be placed on a 24 hour hold on felony charges of Fugitive from Out of State. The new charge carried a bond of $15,000 cash only.


 

On the evening of July 1st, Deputies were dispatched to an address in Holden regarding a burglary that had occurred. The caller reported his father in law’s farm house had been broken into. The caller advised he was unsure if there were still people in the house. Deputies arrived on scene and cleared the residence, but did not find anyone inside. The caller provided a list of items that were stolen from inside the residence.


 

Deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on July 5th in rural Kingsville. One subject was taken into custody because she had warrants for her arrest. Alexis Dawn Morrison, 22, was arrested for her FTA warrant from Blue Springs on original charges of Expired Plates, and her Boone County FTA on original charges of Speeding (16-19 MPH Over).


 

On the evening of July 1st Deputies were dispatched to rural Centerview regarding a theft. A Polaris ATV had been stolen from the 500 block of NW 921 Road. The Polaris has been entered into MULES as stolen.


 

Deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of NW 430 in rural Holden on the afternoon of July 1st to investigate a domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the reporting party stated her ex-boyfriend had somehow gotten into the residence when she wasn’t here and almost hit her with a car before leaving. Deputies obtained all statements and information.


 

On the afternoon of July 1st, Deputies were dispatched to an address in rural Leeton regarding a theft. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with Thomas Buttram, who advised a tractor had been sitting at the end of his driveway, posted for sale. The tractor was stolen between the afternoon of June 30th and the morning of July 1st. There are currently no suspects, and the victim did not know the VIN or serial number of the tractor.


 

July 1st, Deputies were dispatched to an address in Warrensburg that morning to take a harassment report. The reporting party stated her mother was being harassed by two individuals to the point it was affecting her mother mentally and medically. Deputies met with the caller and the victim and obtained information.


 

*The report names the partner as Zachary James Buchanan, 27, of Kingsville. The report does not mention if Buchanan was arrested for a domestic assault charge, but he does have an active FTA warrant for his arrest from Johnson County for Speeding (16-19 MPH) and Driving While Revoked.

***There is no listing in Missouri Casenet for the name “Eram Menson”. As a result, there is no record of his age or location. In the report, he provided an Iowa ID, meaning his offenses may not be listed online in Missouri.
