Slam The Illegal Scam and Quickly Protect Yourself Better Online
Today's a special day, and of course you need to know all about it.

No, I'm not talking about Shaquille O Neal's birthday. Yes, it is today, but I'm talking about something a little bit more serious. I understand how you could get easily distracted by such a huge national holiday as Shaq's birthday, but try to concentrate.
So what are we talking about? I'm talking about Slam the Scam day, Willis. Let's learn a bit more about it. I know you know scams are a huge deal, they always have been. But as technology keeps developing, scammers are getting smarter. The Social Security Office wants you to know about it:
National “Slam the Scam” Day is designated by Social Security’s Office of the Inspector General to raise awareness of government imposter scams, which continue to spread across the United States.
And of course, that's today. So what can you do? You've already got a lot going on with your work, family, and friends. Do you really need to pay attention to this? Isn't your internet firewall enough or something? Well, all they're asking is that you keep up your vigilance, and try to stay informed of the latest scams going around.
Which, you know, I think we can all do.
One thing you hear a lot about are gift card scams. Those will easily get by you. But overall, the main thing they're telling you is the same thing your Grandpa and your Momma told you back in the day. When something seems off, trust your gut.
But of course, it can be hard to know what's real and what isn't these days with deepfakes and AI. So the real deal advice they give....is to give nothing. Again, they say if you get a strange phone call, trust your gut. Hang up. Feel free to download that image to use your social media pages, it's offered for you to do so by the Social Security Office.
And if you or someone you know is a victim of a Social Security scam. make sure you report it by clicking here. Report it even if they didn't get away with much - you never know what they'll try to do to the next person.
Scammily yours,
Behka
