This article is compiled from a report issued by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.


 

On the afternoon of September 25th, Deputies were dispatched to an auto parts store located at 1820 NW 50 Highway in Kingsville in regards to a dog bite. The reporting party, Melody Griffin, reported she was bit by a dog in the lobby of the business. The dog owner, Blake Roberts, did corroborate that the bite occurred at the business. The dog was ordered into a ten-day quarantine.


 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop near 3rd and Olive Street in Holden on the morning of September 26th. Deputies identified the driver was Steven Scott Maxwell, 38. Maxwell was impaired by drugs. Maxwell was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs).


 

Deputies were dispatched to the rea of East North Depot Street and North Walnut Street in Centerview on the morning of September 26th. The reporting party stated animals were at large. Two brown pit bulls were reportedly killing animals all over town. Deputies attempted contact with the animal owner, William Smith, but were unable to make contact. Deputies contacted the Old Drum Animal Shelter to respond, and the animals were not contained. The Shelter collected the animals and provided the owner’s information. Deputies wrote an Animal At Large summons to Smith with a court date in November.


 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop near 3rd and Olive Street in Holden for a driver suspected of being impaired on the night of September 26th. Kristina Lee Brown Thody, 58, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs).


 

On the morning of September 27th, Deputies responded to the 100 block of SE 180 in Warrensburg for a report of Trespassing. The reporting party called stating a cousin of his was on the way to the property, and he did not want him there. The reporting party has called the JCSO before, trespassing this same suspect. Jakob Wikel, 26, of Warrensburg, was arrested for an active felony warrant out of Probation and Parole. Information on that warrant was not available in Casenet at news time.


 

Members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Crime Resolution Team conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle because it had expired registration. The stop took place on the night of September 27th in the 200 block of SW 13 Highway in Warrensburg. Upon further investigation, the driver was found to not have a valid license. Justin Brock Kidd, 46, of Knob Noster, was issued multiple citations and then released on scene. Information on these citations was not available at news time in Casenet.


 

On the afternoon of September 28th, Deputies were patrolling in Warrensburg when they observed a green in color truck turn onto SE 250 from SE 245. As soon as the vehicle turned, they immediately turned into a driveway after they observed the Deputies travelling down the road. It appeared as if they did not want to be in front of the Deputy. The Deputy knew the vehicle did not belong at the residence. A traffic stop was conducted. Timothy Bowen, 28, of Warrensburg, was arrested for an active Probation and Parole warrant. Bowen was transported to the Johnson County Jail.


 

Deputies were stationary in the 100 block of NE 651 in Knob Noster when they observed a black in color Chevrolet Suburban drive by with no license plates on the afternoon of September 28th. Deputies initiated the emergency lights and conducted a traffic stop at the corner of NE 110 and NE 651 on the vehicle. The driver was revoked. Jesse Cheney, 45, of Knob Noster, was issued a summons for Driving While Revoked with a court date.


 

Deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of SW 225 in Holden on the afternoon of September 29th. The reporting party, Stephanie Rebman, advised she was not at the residence, but a man present at the residence was threatening to burn all her belongings. Rebman wished Deputies to speak with the man and advise him not to burn anything. Contact was made with Joseph Pemberton, 44, of Holden. Pemberton was placed under arrest for an active warrant from Miller County on original charges of Resisting Arrest. Pemberton was transported to the Johnson County Jail.


 

A Johnson County Crime Resolution team member conducted a traffic top in Leeton for a registration violation on the afternoon of September 30th. Justin Harding, 37, was issued a verbal warning for improper registration, and was also cited for Driving While Revoked.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of NW 50 Highway and NW 58 Highway in reference to a firearm lying the middle of the westbound lanes. The firearm, which was actually a dart gun, was seized and placed into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Last Thursday morning, Deputies were dispatched to a property damage report at an address in rural Kingsville. The reporting party called to advise he had observed two bullet holes in the front passenger side door of his vehicle a week ago, and wanted to make a report. Officers took photographs of the damage, and obtained a written statement.


 

On the afternoon of September 2nd, Johnson County Crime Resolution Team Members conducted a warrant check in the Montserrat. Donovan Siers, 59, of Montserrat, was arrested for two Johnson County warrants. The first warrant was a felony warrant for Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender), and the other was a Failure to Appear on original charge of Driving While Revoked. Bond was set at $25,000 cash only.


Last Thursday afternoon, Johnson County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of SW Business 13 Highway in Warrensburg. No primary aggressor was determined. However, a person present had a warrant for their arrest. Malea Dianne Cornelius, 20, was arrested on for her warrant for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.


 

Sunday morning, Deputies were dispatched to a rural Warrensburg address in reference to a disturbance in progress. Upon investigation, Deputies took a subject into custody for an active Holden, Missouri arrest warrant. Katie Marie Galea, 35, of Warrensburg, was arrested for her FTA warrant on original charges of a Nuisance Violation. Galea was transported to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center for booking and processing.


 

Friday afternoon, Deputies were dispatched to a rural Warrensburg address in reference to a theft. Upon investigation, Deputies took a stealing report. The investigation is ongoing.


 

Sunday evening, Deputies were dispatched to the rural Knob Noster area in reference to a report of found property. David Peace advised he and his wife Teresa had located a phone while they were cleaning up trash along the side of the road. The cellular device was seized for safekeeping. The device is a Samsung phone with a cracked screen.


 

Monday morning, Deputies responded to the 400 block of South Pennsylvania in Chilhowee to make contact with a property owner. The property owner, Marvin Jones VI, was issued citations for Vegetation, Trash and Rubbish which has been deemed a nuisance. Jones was personally served, given a notification letter to correct the issue in ten days and issued a court date.


 

Monday evening, Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a rural Warrensburg address in regards to a stolen motor vehicle. During the investigation, a suspect was identified. Loleta Marie Smith, 43, of Holden, was transported to the Johnson County Sherriff’s Office Detention Center, pending formal charges of felony Stealing (Motor Vehicle, Watercraft or Aircraft). Smith was issued a $5,000 cash only bond.
