Kids Under 17 Will Need A Contract To Use Warrensburg Community Center
Over the past couple of years, at least a few times a year there have been reports on Facebook or in Warrensburg relevant Facebook groups about unruly, inconsiderate, teens and tweens using or hanging out at the Warrensburg Community Center. Now, Warrensburg Parks and Recreation is attempting to rectify the problem.
Starting October 1, 2022 kids between the ages of 11 - 17 and their guardians must sign a Youth Account Contract to enter and use the Warrensburg Community Center unaccompanied by an adult. According to Warrensburg Parks & Recreation, a youth account contract is a form that must be filled out each school year and details the Warrensburg Community Center's Code of Conduct.
There are also some age restrictions that Parks and Recreation will be enforcing. They are as follows:
- Kids under the age of ten must be accompanied by a parent or guardian within the Warrensburg Community Center at all times.
- Kids 15 and under may use the track with adult supervision but are not allowed in the fitness center.
- Starting October 1, 2022 youths 11 - 15 who have a Youth Contract on file may access the gym or pool without supervision.
- Starting October 1, 2022 teens 16 -17 who have a Youth Contract on file may access the indoor pool, gym, fitness center, and track without supervision.
Parents and guardians along with their kids may fill out and sign the youth contract at the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 E. Gay Street, and fill out the Youth Contract at the front desk. Kids participating in Warrensburg Parks and Recreation activities do not need a Youth Contract to participate, and parental supervision is not needed during these events.
