Starting in January Warrensburg Parks & Recreation is offering parents the opportunity to enroll their children in grades six through ten in an after-school program at the Warrensburg Community Center.

Programming offered includes an open gym with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly sports competition, arts and crafts, Nintendo Switch challenges, and homework and school project assistance.

When it comes to homework and school project assistance there will be staff available to help the kids.

Additionally, a nutritious snack will be provided for students enrolled in the program.

The cost is $20 per student per week. The start date for the after-school program is January 4, 2022, and it ends May 20, 2022. The program will run Monday - Friday from 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM CST and the schedule and hours will follow Warrensburg R6 School District calendar and closures. The program will also offer extended hours on early-out days.

Scholarships are available thanks to funding through the Johnson County United Way.

This is the latest programming from Warrensburg Parks & Recreation designed to help families and kids in the Warrensburg area. Many of their day camp opportunities are designed around giving younger kids something to do during the summer and school break periods.

Additionally, Warrensburg Parks & Recreation offers monthly Kids Night In programming designed to give busy moms and dads have a Friday evening to themselves and entertaining programs for the entire family.

You can register and learn more about Warrensburg Parks & Recreation's programming on their registration site and on their Facebook page. For more information on the after-school program, you can contact the Community Center's front desk at 660-747-7178 or contact allivia.zoern@warrensburg-mo.com.
