Kim Anderson...he played his high school basketball at Smith-Cotton HIgh School. He went on to the University of Missouri and played under Norm Stewart. He was a head coach at two universities in Missouri, and then he left the Show-Me State in 2017. So where is he now?

It was after he finished his senior at the University of Missouri that Anderson was drafted in 1977 in the second round by the Portland Trailblazers. He only played 21 games during the 1978-79 season.

After 17 years as an assistant coach with Baylor and Missouri, Kim Anderson coached 11 years at the University of Central Missouri. From 2002-2014, Coach Anderson helped the Mules to an NCAA Division II National Championship, two Final Fours, and one Sweet 16 appearance. He finished at UCM with a record of 274-94 (.745)

He left to have a chance that every college player dreams of...to coach at their alma mater. Unfortunately, after three years he was asked to leave by the Univwersity of Missouri.

It was a tough road for Anderson as he was asked to fill the coaching vacancy at MU after Frank Haith left the university for the Tulsa opening. The cards were stacked against him.

After a 19-44 record after his first two seasons and a 7-23 record at the end of the 2017 season, along with a lack of on-court success and a significant drop in interest surrounding the men's basketball program, the University of Missouri asked him to leave.

He wasn't sure if he wanted to coach anymore after his stint at his alma mater. But then he was later approached and offerred the job at Pittsburg State University. Since then Anderson has really enjoyed getting back to coaching, and not being under the microscope.

In his first year as the coach of the Gorillas, his team went 17-13. So far this year Pittsburg State is 10-3 with a conference game scheduled against Anderson's old team, UCM, on Saturday, January 12, at Pttsburg, KS.
