If you get a smoky smell while running your faucets. Or detect smoke in your home in Knob Noster next week. Don't worry, it's probably from the smoke test the City of Knob Noster is conducting on sewer lines.

According to 08, the smoke testing will be conducted between 8:00 AM  - 5:00 PM CDT, mainly South of Highway 50, where the City's oldest sewer lines are located.

The City says the smoke used is non-toxic to animals and humans and doesn't stain. If you detect smoke in your home you should check your sewer drain. If you see smoke coming from it, gently pour water down it and it should solve the smoke problem. Additionally, the City says, tap water may have a smoky smell but it's still fine for cooking and drinking.
