LeBron James announced his production company and Warner Brothers have reached a deal on a new partnership that could include movies, TV, and digital content. This leads some to believe a Space Jam squeal is coming soon.

Like most men my age I grew up loving Space Jam. I even pre-ordered the blu-ray when it came out. The news of a Space Jam squeal is exciting for some, but not for me.

This is why it could be exciting, IT'S SPACE JAM!  Who doesn't want to see the Looney Toons save their fictional universe over a game of basketball with help form the most recognizable and best player in the world? Plus, the return of the Monstars would be great too! Not so much.

As much as I love sports and cartoons, we do not need another Space Jam. This next statement is going to make me sound selfish, but I don't care.  Space Jam is my generation's thing and I don't really want to share it. As boy in the '90's there was nothing cooler than rocking out to the Space Jam soundtrack, collecting the toys from McDonalds, and wearing your Toon Squad jersey on the playground. Like Michael Jordan there will only be one Space Jam. No matter how hard Warner Brothers and James try they will never be able to recreate the magic that was Space Jam. There is no way I could see a squeal ever living up to the hype. Lastly, with all the flopping James does in a real game, how am I suppose to believe he can stretch his arm from half court to dunk the ball with the whole Monstars team hanging on him? Sorry for the spoiler, if you have been living under a rock and never saw the cinematic masterpiece that is Space Jam.

Do you think the there should be a Space Jame squeal?  Let me know in the comments below.
