Carless driver arrested on multiple charges Monday evening

At 6:14 Monday evening Sedalia police received several calls on a driver driving carelessly in the area of 13th and Kentucky. Upon arrival the officers reportedly observed the driver operating the vehicle in a dangerous manor, and stopped the vehicle.  Upon contact with the driver 34-year-old Jeremiah Boatman of Sedalia officers reported he showed obvious signs of impairment due to drugs. Boatman was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of careless and imprudent driving, DWI drugs, Driving while suspended or revoked, and possession of marijuana a misdemeanor.

2-year-old child bit on the lip at a Sedalia park

On Monday Sedalia police were dispatched to the emergency room at the Bothwell regional Health Center on a small child with a dog bite. Upon arrival the victims mother told the officers a dog, that was running loose in the park had bitten her 2-year-old daughter on the upper lip. The report states a small cut was visible on the girls lip. The dog was not found, and is unknown at this time.

Local car dealer reports a case of fraud to Sedalia police Monday

At 10:51 Monday morning the Sedalia police took a theft complaint from the Car Coral located at 2602 West Broadway. According to the complainant on the 12th of April a subject purchased a 1998 Dodge Truck from the dealership, and gave a cashiers check in the amount $2500 for the purchase. On the 18th the bank notified the dealership the check was fraudulent. The report went on to say the vehicle was recovered in Knob Noster on the 20th, and there is a suspect.

Two people caught with open container during Saturdays DWI Check

At 11:30 Saturday night Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at the DWI checkpoint by the Fairgrounds. Upon contact with the occupants officers detected the odor of alcohol. A subsequent check of the vehicle revealed open containers of beer. Arrested at the scene were 41-year-old Raymond Wehmeyer, and 37-year-old Cherie Viebrock both of Stover. They were taken to the Pettis County jail where they were booked and released with court

dates.

Vehicle stop for no license plates results in charges of minor in possession charge

At 11:10 Saturday night Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 2500 block of West 16th for no license plates. A check on the driver 19-year-old Daryl Rasa of Smithton revealed he was a minor in passion of alcohol. At the time of the police report Rasa was in the Pettis County Jail pending bond of $533.50.

Sedalia woman arrested for failure to obey a stop sign, and driving while revoked

Just after 5 o’clock this (Tuesday morning Sedalia police stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Massachusetts for failure to obey a stop sign. A check on the driver Zalada Reyes of Sedalia found she was also revoked. Reyes was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending $531.50 bond.

Office building on West Benton broken into over the weekend

Just before 9 o’clock Monday morning Sedalia police took a theft complaint from a complainant in the 300 block of West Benton. According to the complainant sometime over the weekend someone broke into her office and stole two watches valued at $230. There are no suspects at this time.

Thieves target a garage in the 800 block of West 7th

At 4:14 Monday afternoon a victim in the 800 block of West 7th reported her garage was entered and several items were stolen. There were no suspects.
