Man Arrested after Harassing Tenants, Threatening Landlord
On Friday morning (March 8), Sedalia Police were dispatched to 610 W. 4th Street for a report of a man squatting in the one of the apartments and harassing tenants.
When police arrived, the suspect would not open the door and refused to state his name. The landlord was called and arrived on scene, telling the man to leave, which he continued to refuse.
The landlord then went into the apartment and the suspect reportedly pointed a 9mm pistol at him and slammed the door on the landlord's foot. The landlord got out and everyone then backed away from the door, while authorities set up a perimeter around the building.
Officers talked to the subject, identified as 40-year old Damon M. Gordon, for about twenty minutes and he eventually came out unarmed. The gun was collected as evidence and Gordon was arrested for 3rd Degree felony Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Concealable Weapon and Trespassing.
