The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 24-year-old Corbin Lee Whitney of Marshall at 6:38 p.m. Saturday in Pettis County.

According to a probable cause statement, Pettis County Joint Communications requested that a Trooper respond to an incident that occurred at Route K and OO, (4th street in Houstonia) at 3:52 p.m. Dec. 16.

Apparently, a red Dodge truck struck a black Jeep, and a subsequent assault occurred. Contact was made with the victims, the driver of the Jeep and her passenger.

The victims said that the suspect (Whitney) followed them from Marshall and repeatedly threatened to cut them off. The driver said that when she stopped at a stop sign, Whitney intentionally rammed her Jeep with his Dodge truck. He then forcibly pulled the passenger from the vehicle and began punching her in the head until she fell to the ground.

Whitney fled the scene when he realized someone had called 911.

The victim (passenger) told the Trooper that she got into an argument with Whitney in Marshall over his truck not having insurance. She then left Marshall to get away from Whitney.
