Maurice Taylor, 76

Maurice Taylor, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 29, 1938 in Liberty, MO, a son of Ralph and Thelma (McCorkle) Taylor.

On April 6, 1968 in Clarksburg, MO, he was united in marriage to Ruth Pritchard, who survives of the home.

Maurice loved working on vehicles, gardening, and working in the yard. He enjoyed spending time with his family, John Wayne movies, Johnny Cash, southern gospel music and watching wrestling every time it was on. Maurice was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Sedalia. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Bobbi Chaney of Taneyville, MO, Maurice Timothy Taylor of Louisville, KY, Danny Ray Taylor (Jane Marie) of Sedalia, MO, and Kimberly Ann Taylor of Sedalia, MO; one sister, Jo Collins of Long Dale, CA; eleven grandchildren, Cody, Kristi, Jessica, Brianna, Jaclyn, Dakota, Abigail, Lyric, Dalton, Martie and Binky; and his mini dachshund, Duke.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Maurine Wissman; one brother, Junior Taylor; and two beloved dogs, Pebbles and Missy.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
