State officials say Missouri should be able to conduct thousands of tests for the coronavirus sometime around April 1.

Gov. Mike Parson said in a news conference Monday he expects the state to be able to deploy mobile testing labs across the state in 10 days to two weeks.

Parson announced Monday a sixth case of the coronavirus in the state, this one in Greene County in southwest Missouri. He said 170 people have been tested for COVID-19 so far in the state, with 164 testing negative.

On Sunday, Parson strongly encouraged the cancellation or suspension of public events with more than 50 people.
