Looking for a fall getaway that requires a flight somewhere? Now might be just the time to book it. Southwest Airlines winter fare sale is going on now through October 3.

You can fly to Minneapolis/St. Paul or St. Louis for $49. $59 will get you to Chicago, Milwaukee or Indianapolis. All three cities by the way are great cities to visit.  $69 can get you to Music City USA, Nashville. And $79 bucks will get you to Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Denver and San Antonio.

I bet you're saying yeah, but what about real vacation destinations? $179 will get you to Burbank, California close to Los Angeles. Speaking of Los Angeles, you can get a ticket there for $119. New York City, $99. Southwest will fly you to Cancun, Mexico for $202 or Montego Bay, Jamaica for $228. Turks and Caicos for $154.

Remember, the prices I quoted are one way fares and must be purchased by October 3. And you must be able to travel between November 13 - February 12, 2020. Travel dates around Thanksgiving and Christmas / New Years are blacked out. So yes, some restrictions apply.

So are there really good deals to be had? I'm not a travel expert, but I spent a lot of time traveling between Lubbock, Texas and other larger cities a couple of years ago. Let me tell you, it was never a cheap ticket, because well, it was Lubbock. Lubbock makes the list with a one way fair starting at $161 dollars. That's a pretty good price, so if you'd be traveling around this time anyway, and you can swing the sale, I'd go for it.

Do read the fine print before you book, and make sure you can travel because a $49 ticket does you no good if you can't get out of town. You can find more information on this sale here.
