One Arrested in Moniteau County for Meth Possession
A 31-year old Springfield man was recently arrested in Moniteau County after deputies conducted a subject check.
The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department says on June 9, deputies checked on a man walking along Highway 50 near California, MO.
The man was identified as 31-year old Matthew D. Gibson, of Springfield, MO.
Investigation revealed Gibson had a non-extraditable warrant from Springfield. Gibson was reportedly "acting nervous" as deputies were speaking with him. According to authorities, a consent to search Gibson's person and backpack was granted.
Deputies then located methamphetamine in the backpack and arrested Gibson for Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth).
He was taken to the Moniteau County Jail with a bond of $25,000.00.
