One Teen Killed, One Injured in Pontoon Incident at Table Rock Lake

One teen was killed and another injured Sunday afternoon in a pontoon boating accident that occurred at Table Rock Lake.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a southbound 2022 Regency Tri-Toon pontoon boat, driven by 62-year-old Christopher M. Johnson of O'Fallon, struck two swimmers, then struck a rock bluff.

A 15-year-old female from O'Fallon was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:15 p.m., by Taney County Coroner Tony Mullen. The body was taken to Taney County Cremation of the Ozarks.

A 16-year-old male from Ballwin was taken by ambulance to Cox Medical Center in Branson for treatment of minor injuries.

The incident took place near Breezy Point Lane on Table Rock Lake.

The boat operator was reportedly arrested on suspicion of boating while intoxicated. The MSHP is investigating the fatal accident, which occurred near State Park Marina, a popular place for swimmers.
