Page Officially Sworn in As Pettis County Clerk
Pettis County’s newest Election Authority, Megan Page, was sworn into office on Monday morning by Judge Phillip Sawyer at the Pettis County Courthouse.
Attending the brief ceremony were her immediately family, friends, a handful of county office holders and staff members.
“I’m a little overwhelmed,” Page commented after the ceremony. “But it’s good, I’m excited.”
Page signed documents that officially name her as Nick La Strada’s successor in the Pettis County Clerk’s office, located at 215 East 5th Street in Sedalia, one block east of the courthouse.
On Jan. 31, Gov. Mike Kehoe announced the appointment of Megan Page, of Sedalia, as Pettis County Clerk.
Page replaces former Pettis County Clerk Nick La Strada, who was promoted to Director of Election Integrity by Secretary of State Denny Hoskins on Jan. 7.
On Jan. 24, Jessica Renee Capkovic was officially appointed as the Interim Pettis County Clerk by the Pettis County Commissioners. She served one week before Gov. Kehoe appointed Page. Capkovic remained as interim clerk until Page was officially sworn into office on Monday.
Page is the owner of Heckart, Meisenheimer, and Scrivner Morrow Funeral Homes as well as Memorial Park and Highland Sacred Gardens Cemeteries.
From 2017 to 2020, she served as the 4th Ward Councilwoman for the City of Sedalia. She currently serves on the State Fair Community College Foundation Board, and the Boys & Girls Club of West Central Missouri Board, and is a member of the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I will run again in two years,” Page promised. “So I will be on the ballot in November of “26, and then the people of Pettis County will decide at that point.”
The next General Municipal Election takes place April 8.
