On Friday, Jan. 31, Gov. Mike Kehoe announced the appointment of Megan Page, of Sedalia, as Pettis County Clerk.

"Ms. Page is the owner of Heckart, Meisenheimer, and Scrivner Morrow Funeral Homes as well as Memorial Park and Highland Sacred Gardens Cemeteries.

"She has considerable experience in finance and business management, having previously served as a bank manager, personal banker, teller, and mortgage loan officer.

"Beyond her professional expertise, Page has demonstrated a strong commitment to community involvement.

From 2017 to 2020, she served as the 4th Ward Councilwoman for the City of Sedalia. She currently serves on the State Fair Community College Foundation Board, and the Boys & Girls Club of West Central Missouri Board, and is a member of the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce.

In a facebook post on Friday night, Page said she was honored, humbled and grateful.

"The last few weeks have been a whirlwind! When I found out that the Pettis County Clerk position had become available, I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to use my experience and background to serve the people of Pettis County. I’m excited to get into the office and begin this new role!” Page commented.

Page replaces former Pettis County Clerk Nick La Strada, who was promoted to Director of Election Integrity by Secretary of State Denny Hoskins on Jan. 7.

On Jan. 24, Jessica Renee Capkovic was officially appointed as the Interim Pettis County Clerk by the Pettis County Commissioners. She served one week before Gov. Kehoe appointed Page. However, Capkovic will remain as interim clerk until Page is officially sworn into office.

And also on Friday, Jan. 31,  Pastor Maurice Robinson announced his retirement from the Pettis County Clerk's Office. He was honored for his five years of dedicated service as the Chief of Staff for the Pettis County Clerk’s Office and Election Authority.
