UPDATE: Pending results of toxicology tests conducted during an autopsy held late this morning in Columbia, Coroner Skip Smith has tentatively determined Saturday's death of a rural Sedalia man to be from natural causes.

Ivan Laster, Sr was found deceased in the road outside his home in the Happy Acres Trailer Park just after noon on Saturday. A Nixle alert and Crime Stoppers release was later issued, requesting persons with information about Mr. Laster's whereabouts to contact the sheriff's office. Multiple calls were received, and Sheriff Kevin Bond expresses his thanks to those callers who helped deputies in their investigation.

On Mar. 9, 2013 Pettis County Deputies responded to the Happy Acres Trailer park at 22527 N. Hwy 65 for a report of a deceased male. Upon arrival, Ivan Laster Sr. (61 years of age) was found deceased at the location.

At this time the death is under investigation by the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office and the Pettis County Coroners Office. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death.
