On the afternoon of May 16th, Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with a suspect at the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, 319 South Lamine Avenue. The discussion regarded an active warrant for his arrest that had been issued by Boone County. The initial incident took place in August of 2023, and he was released on an own recognizance bond a few days later. After several rescheduled court appearances, and the filing of two letters from his spouse asking the court to force him into long-term confined rehab*, a Failure to Appear warrant was issued for his arrest in May of 2024. Kenneth Dale James Jr., 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. James was booked in at the Pettis County Jail pending a $10,000 cash or surety bond due to previous convictions**.
