Wednesday night, Deputies were in the area of South Park Avenue and West 14th Street when they spotted a male subject on a motorcycle who was known to have an active warrant for his arrest through Pettis County. Officers caught up with the male subject and identified a female on another motorcycle. As the Deputies stopped to speak with the two subjects, the male continued west on his motorcycle while the female stopped. The female was identified as Charity R. Dixon*, 26, of Sedalia. Deputies then stopped the male and confirmed through JCOMM that he had two warrants for his arrest from April of 2024 on two charges of Shoplifting from the Sedalia Menards’ store. Bennett Tyler Neely, 26, Homeless, was arrested on his two warrants. Neely then contacted Anthony Quick, 25, of Sedalia, to come to the scene and get the motorcycles. Bond for Neely was set at $120 cash only total, with $60 bond on each warrant.


 

Deputies took a report Wednesday morning from Leona Payne of Sedalia. Payne reported she had mail stolen from her mailbox in the 3000 block of Cannon Drive between the morning of August 20th and the 21st.

Tuesday evening, Deputies responded to the 900 block of East Broadway Boulevard in an attempt to locate a subject with an active Morgan County warrant. After being allowed into the residence, Deputies located the suspect. Mattie Lee Hood, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Probation Violation warrant on original charges of felony Forgery. The incident occurred in April of 2023, and the Violation occurred in December of 2023. Hood was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, to be held with no bond.


 

Tuesday afternoon, the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office took a theft report from the Casey’s General Store, 101 West Front Street in La Monte.


 

On the afternoon of August 20th, Deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle for excessively speeding in the area of US65 and Flat Creek. The motorcycle was pursued for several miles. But, the pursuit was ultimately terminated by the pursuing Deputy due to unsafe conditions. The investigation continues.


 

*Complaint 2024-01456 mentions that Deputies identified Dixon was having an active warrant for her arrest as well. However, there is no mention in the report of Dixon being arrested, although there is a mention of Quick arriving on scene to retrieve both motorcycles. Dixon did have a Probation Violation filed (21PT-CR01015-01 and 20PT-CR01286-01) on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The Violation was filed on August 2nd, however on August 5th, the docket mentions the “State has not filed a petition to revoke. The court continues probation supervision”.
