Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for December 20, 2022

Saturday morning, Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of US 65 Highway near Flat Creek on a vehicle because it failed to signal a lane change. A K9 Unit was ran round the vehicle to check for the odor of narcotics. There was a positive alert on the vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Charges are being filed through the Prosecutor on the suspect, who was not named in the report.

On the afternoon of December 13th, Deputies took a report of fraud. The fraud occurred in the 19000 block of Highway B earlier that same morning. A person claiming to be with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office told the victim they had a warrant for their arrest and demanded bond money.

Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 65 and Highway F because the vehicle was displaying the license plates of another early Sunday morning. The driver of the vehicle, Eric Trayser Williams, 35, Deepwater, was found to have a suspended driving status. Williams was placed under arrest for Driving While Suspended. Williams and booked and released from the Pettis County Jail and the license plates were seized off of the vehicle for destruction.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop Saturday evening on West Broadway Boulevard because the vehicle was driving with no tail lights. The driver, Jacob David Haulcy, 27, of Sedalia, was found to have a suspended driving status. Charges of Driving While Suspended are being sought through the prosecutor.

Sunday night, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of South Limit Avenue. The vehicle had a defective brake light. The driver, Zachary James Buchanan, 25, of Kingsville, was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driving status. Buchanan was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Buchanan was booked and released on felony charges of Driving While Revoked.
