On the night of February 23rd, Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office conducted a vehicle stop on a black Dodge Challenger. The stop took place near US 50 Highway and South Lamine Avenue. The stop was conducted because the Dodge did not have a license plate light. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Jodie Raye Cornine, 27, of Hughesville. Cornine had an active felony Probation Violation warrant for her arrest. The original incident occurred in April of 2021, and Cornine was convicted of felony Burglary in the 1st Degree and felony Assault in the 3rd Degree. Cornine was then placed on five years’ probation in March of 2022, and violated the probation since May of 2023. Cornine was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on her warrant, which carried a bond amount of $15,000 cash only. The driver was released from the scene with a warning for defective equipment.

Saturday morning, Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office made an arrest in the 3200 block of West 16th Street*. Emily Joyce Denney, 32, of Green Ridge, was arrested for an outstanding Cooper County warrant. The original incident occurred in November 2022, and the Failure to Appear was issued in January 2023. The original citation was on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Denney was booked in pending a cash only bond of $200.00.


 

Friday morning, Pamela Graham of Sedalia reported to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office she was the victim of identity theft and harassment in the 17000 block of Thornleigh Road, Hughesville.


 

*The address of where the stop took place was not given in the report. The report appeared to cut off the street address to only have the word "16th" visible. However, the Latitude and Longitude of the location of the arrest was given (38.699371361, -093.27178998), which placed the arrest in the 3200 block of West 16th Street, Sedalia.
