Last Thursday night, Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of South Park Avenue and Villa Drive. The driver, Linda Gail Corona, 53, of Sedalia, was found to be in possession of Clonazepam (AKA Klonopin) pills that were not prescribed to her. Corona was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Corona was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held on a 24 hour hold, pending a cash or surety bond of $1500.


 

Sunday afternoon, Deputies took a report of theft from James Wagenknecht of Smithton. Wagenknecht stated someone stole a flatbed trailer from the 26000 block of Florence Road between the morning of February 24th and the afternoon of March 12th. The investigation continues.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop Saturday evening in the area of West 14th Street and South Ohio Avenue. The driver of the vehicle, Darren Alexander Morey, 27, of Sedalia, was found to have a revoked driving status. Morey was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for Driving While Suspended (Second or Third Offense).


 

Friday evening, Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in the 3000 block of Brooking Park Avenue. After an investigation, Jacob A. Magnuson, 44, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Peace Disturbance. Magnuson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

In the early morning hours of March 9th, Deputies conducted an investigative traffic stop near the intersection of West 15th Street and South Grand Avenue. The vehicle's registration showed the registered owner was a suspended driver. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as Steven Jay Kimbrell, 53, of Sedalia. Kimbrell's driving privileges were suspended out of Missouri. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, due to a positive alert from a K9. Illegal controlled substances were found inside the vehicle. Kimbrell was arrested for Driving While Suspended and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. A passenger, Angie Lynn Wirtz, 44, of Smithton, was also arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Kimbrell and Wirtz were both transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold. Bond for each was set at $7500 cash or surety.
