Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for May 2, 2023

Early Monday morning, Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the Super 7 Motel, 5650 South Limit Avenue. During the stop, Deputies requested the Pettis County K9 Unit. The K9 was deployed on the vehicle, and K9 Cav alerted to the vehicle. As Deputies were trying to place the driver of the vehicle under arrest, she resisted. Samantha Lynn Clawson, 46, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest without incident. Clawson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on charges of felony Trafficking of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and felony Resisting Arrest. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.
Saturday morning, Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the Phillips 66, 216 West Broadway Boulevard. During the stop, Deputies requested the K9 Unit. The Pettis County K9 alerted to the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, two syringes, unknown pills, and approximately 3.13 grams of a crystal substance was located. Deputies arrested Jason A. Roellig, 41, Homeless. Roellig was held pending a $10,000 cash or surety bond on two felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Deputies contacted a suspect Sunday evening in the 300 block of Chestnut Street, La Monte. Deputies had knowledge there was an active warrant for the suspect’s arrest. Paul Lawrence Hartelt, 44, of La Monte, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Property Damage in the 2nd Degree and Driving Without Insurance. Hartelt was taken into custody pending a total cash only bond of $388.50.
Saturday morning, the Pettis County K9 Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West 3rd Street. During the traffic stop, a crystal substance was located inside the vehicle. Amanda L. Hill, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Hill was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash or surety bond of $7500.
