This article is compiled from reports issued by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office.
Wednesday afternoon, Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cody Wendell Yardley, 32, of Sedalia in the 2800 block of Highway TT. Yardley had outstanding warrants out of Boone County for his arrest. One warrant was issued after an incident in May 2023. After the suspect failed to appear in court in July of 2023, a Failure to Appear warrant was filed on charges of Assault in the 4th Degree. After three more instances, the latest FTA warrant was changed to a Capias Warrant* in February of 2024. Bond on the warrant was set at $1000 cash or surety. Another warrant was issued after an incident in June of 2023. After two more filings, the latest FTA warrant was issued in February 2024 on charges of felony Property Damage in the 1st Degree and misdemeanor Resisting Arrest. Bond is set at $5,000 cash/surety.

*A capias warrant is essentially an order to arrest and detain an individual for the purpose of guaranteeing a court appearance. 23BA-CR01860 notes “Pursuant to Rule 33.01 et seq. the Court finds that the Defendant's failure to appear demonstrates that the Defendant's promise alone is not sufficient to reasonably assure the appearance of the Defendant."
