Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for September 12, 2023

Saturday evening, Deputies responded to the 1400 block of South Missouri Avenue in an attempt to make contact with a specific person who had multiple felony warrants for their arrest. Deputies were allowed in the residence, and contacted a third-party subject in the back bedroom. The subject, Sierra Denise Cooper, 29, of the address, told Deputies the man they were looking for was not present. Deputies quickly located him hiding in a closet in the room. John Patrick Leach, 41, of Cole Camp, was placed under arrest. Leach was booked in on an active warrant out of Benton County for felony Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree, which carried a bond of $20,000 surety only. Leach was also booked in on a Probation Violation warrant which held no bond as well as Violation of an Order of Protection, because Cooper had a current Order of Protection against Leach since October of 2022. Cooper was also placed under arrest, booked, and released on a charge of Hindering Prosecution of a Felony.
Deputies responded to the M2 Self Storage and Sales, 100 Baker Street in La Monte on Friday afternoon. The call concerned reports of a man threatening suicide. When Deputies arrived, it was determined the suspect had threatened suicide out of anger. It was also determined that the suspect had two active warrants out of Henry County for Shoplifting. Dustin E. Johnson, 40, of Sweet Springs, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $716.50 cash only bond.
Friday evening, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue on a vehicle with defective brake lights. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Destiny Nicole Archambault, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Archambault was booked and released on a charge of Driving While Suspended.
