Very early Tuesday morning, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Brown Avenue. The driver, Aullnie Edward Colvin, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Colvin was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Late Sunday night, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 16th Street and South Beacon Avenue. The stop was conducted on a silver Ford Fusion that was traveling 50 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. While the Deputy was writing the driver a speeding ticket, he asked the passengers to step out of the vehicle. Another Deputy utilized his K9 on one of the passengers and advised a positive alert. In the back seat of the car, Deputies located a black backpack belonging to one of the passengers. Inside the backpack, Deputies found a plastic smoking pipe and an orange piece of rubber belonging to said passenger. Deputies searched a pink purse that was on her person. In the purse, deputies found a glass smoking pipe with burnt residue. Deputies collected a plastic baggie with a white crystal substance that the suspect pulled out of her pants, and another clear plastic baggie with a white crystal substance she pulled from her brassiere*. Mikala O’Bryan, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and felony Trafficking Drugs in the 2nd Degree.


 

Saturday night, Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of US 50 and South Emmet Avenue in Pettis County. The stop was on a motorcycle that had a registration violation. The motorcycle fled eastbound on US 50 from the traffic stop, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit reached speeds of 60-97 MPH. The pursuit was terminated by Deputies for unsafe conditions. Deputies followed at a safe distance, obeying traffic laws. When Deputies approached the intersection of US 50 and Highway 135, they noticed the motorcycle and the suspect on the shoulder of the road, leaning over a guardrail. Ryan Lee Hefley, 45, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Resisting Arrest by Fleeing** and Driving While Revoked.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Avalanche that did not have a license plate attached on the afternoon of September 13th. The driver stated she had no license plates because he was trying to buy the vehicle. Deputies asked both the driver and the passenger, who was in the back seat, to exit the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, Deputies found nothing of interest. The passenger was patted down, and his property and cigarette pack were placed on top of the vehicle. After a short search, Deputies found a small plastic baggie lying on the ground. After separating both the driver and the passenger, the passenger admitted the baggie was his. He stated the baggie must have fallen out of his sock when the Deputy patted him down. The baggie later tested positively for methamphetamine. Floyd Eugene Flippin, 58, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Flippin was transported to the Petts County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.


 

Deputies were dispatched to a restaurant at 119 Washington Street in Smithton on Tuesday afternoon in reference to a report of property damage. During the investigation, it was found that someone had tried to force entry into the business. There are no suspects at the time of the report.


 

Monday afternoon, Deputies responded to the 100 block of Baker Street in La Monte, in reference to a fraud report. Information was gathered, and a report was completed.


 

Monday evening, James Hazel of Smithton reported to the Sheriff’s Office that someone had taken an unknown amount of money from his safe in the 33000 block of Lake Creek Road.


 

Tuesday morning, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of South Osage Avenue and West 4th Street because it was committing traffic violations, and did not have a front license plate. After investigation, the driver, Dalton Hermanson, 21, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated***. During the stop, one of the passengers became unruly and refused to follow instructions from Deputies to step out of the vehicle onto the roadway. Deputies went to take the individual into custody, who then began to resist arrest. Ramiro Rodriguez, 23, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for a charge of Resisting Arrest. Hermanson and Rodriguez were both booked in and placed on a 12-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


 

*The probable cause report notes the plastic baggie in O’Bryan’s pants was weighed at 3.4 grams, and was identified as Fentanyl. The baggie in O’Bryan’s brassiere showed a weight of 1.2 grams, and was identified as methamphetamine. The statutory amount for trafficking Fentanyl is 20 milligrams, meaning O’Bryan had over 170 times the statutory amount of Fentanyl on her person at the time of her arrest.

 

**The probable cause report notes Hefley had three non-extraditable warrants. Information on those warrants was not immediately available in Casenet. The PC Report also notes a DWR conviction in 2015, and a DWR conviction in 2019. Hefley is also a Tier III convicted sex offender, from a conviction of Sexual Assault from Moniteau County in 2007. Hefley was also convicted of another charge of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing on July 11th of 2024 by Columbia PD, Casenet 23BA-CR00143.

 

***Hermanson was just released from probation in January of 2024 on a previous conviction of Driving While Intoxicated from 2020. Casenet 180487879.
