Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for September 21, 2021

On the morning of September 16th, Pettis County Deputies took a report of illegal dumping in the 29000 block of Backbone Road.
Pettis County Deputies took a report of noninjury motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Elm Branch Road and Maple Grove Road, Windsor, Pettis County on the afternoon of September 15th. Both drivers declined medical attention and the vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Deputies took a report for a license plate that had been stolen in the 300 block of North Broadway in Houstonia on the morning of September 11th. The plate was stolen on September 4th.
Last Wednesday morning, Pettis County Deputies responded to the 2300 block of Briarwood Drive in Sedalia in reference to a subject leaving the scene of an accident. At approximately 6:00 a.m., a silver two door passenger car struck a parked vehicle and left the area. Damage to both vehicles was reported, and the investigation will continue.
On the afternoon of September 14th, an in custody detainee at the Pettis County Jail threw a television against a video visitation unit, damaging both items. Jarred Sanders remains in custody on a previous criminal charge. Deputies are seeking new criminal charges of Damage to Jail Property. The replacement value of the damaged items was approximately $1,200.
Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle from the 27000 block of Griessen Road in Pettis County on the afternoon of September 12th. The vehicle was found abandoned in a field at the back of a property. There were no leads at this time.
Deputies conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of Highway 65 and Highway F for expired registration on the morning of September 12th. After a probable cause search of the vehicle due to the odor of marijuana, the driver, Brandon Williams of Sedalia, was issued a summons for Possession of Marijuana.
On the afternoon of September 11th, Deputies conducted a vehicle stop for speeding (26 miles per hour more) near the intersection of Highway 50 and Chevalier Road in La Monte. The driver, Anita L. Ward, of Sedalia, was arrested for an active Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding out of Benton County. Ward was transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $200 cash or surety bond.
Sunday morning, Deputies took a report of Fraud from the 600 block of West 32nd Street. A suspect had attempted to steal the complainant's identity.
Pettis County Deputies responded to the Budget Inn, 4710 South Limit last Thursday for a report of a burglary not in progress. During the investigation, Deputies were able to identify the suspect as Gary Barnett. At this time, it is not known where Barnett is located. Late last Thursday night, the Pettis County K9 Unit observed a subject with active warrants walking across the Wal Mart parking lot, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. The subject was identified as Brittany Hall. Hall had an active Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County on original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana. Hall was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending bond of $7,500 cash or surety.
On the morning of September 16th, Deputies took a report that unknown suspects had damaged part of the fiber optic wire on East Boonville road, rural Pettis County, belonging to Central Missouri Electric Coop of Sedalia.
