The 22nd-ranked State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners cross country team recorded the best team finish in program history finishing second with a total of 81 points at the Indian Hills Invitational in Ottumwa, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 14.

Sophomore Ty Lewis led the team finishing seventh. Lewis covered the 8K course in a time of 27:03.9. Sophomore Logan Shaw finished 13th in 27:39.2. Sophomore Nathan Gemechu finished 18th in 28:14.4. Freshman Ezeckual Freed finished 19th in 28:14.6. Sophomore Ryan Smith finished 24th in 28:25.4. Sophomore Juan Herrera finished 31st in a time of 28:57.9. Freshman Roman Ray finished 39th in 29:36.0.

“We proved just how competitive we really are,” said Roadrunners Cross Country Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. “We had two men break our school record with Ty Lewis holding the top spot for our team. We are looking forward to continue this success in Region 16 Cross Country Championships in a few weeks.”
