Smith-Cotton High School had 25 instrumental music students audition Saturday in Warrensburg for the West Central Missouri Music Educators Association district honor bands and jazz bands.

The following students made the district jazz band:
Ashley Grotzinger, 2nd tenor saxophone
Joe Snelling, 4th Trombone
Zack Murdock, Drumset

The following students made the district honorable mention band:
Edward Toderescu-Stavila, 1st alternate oboe
Dominick Youngblood, 22nd chair clarinet and 4th chair bass clarinet
Sydney Kocsis 9th chair flute
Drake Carr 4th chair tuba
Ashley Grotzinger, 2nd chair tenor saxophone
Michaylah Hawkins,3rd chair bassoon

In the district honor band:
Hannah Pitts, 14th chair clarinet
Val Toderescu-Stavila 6th chair horn
Ashley Grotzinger, 2nd chair baritone saxophone, placing her in all three groups.

Grotzinger, Pitts, Murdoch and Val Toderescu-Stavila will audition for the all-state band and jazz band Dec. 3 in Columbia.
