S-C’s Webb To Play Baseball At SFCC
Smith-Cotton High School senior Adam Webb has accepted an athletic scholarship to play baseball at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
Webb, the son of Sheri and Kevin Webb, has played at the varsity level for the Tigers all three years, earning letters each season; he also has been a member of the team’s Leadership Council all three years. Webb earned All-District recognition as a sophomore, and was Academic All-State as a sophomore and junior. His S-C career batting average is .312 with five doubles and two triples, and he has stolen 30 bases in 33 attempts.
SFCC Baseball Head Coach Jud Kindle is happy to bring Webb into the fold for the Roadrunners.
“He has a ton of tools that I can definitely see him developing to become a really good ballplayer for us,” Kindle said. “The thing that sold us on him was his character, his work ethic and how he goes about his business.”
S-C Baseball Head Coach Kyle Zimmerman said: “Throughout the past three years, Adam has been one of our go-to guys at the top of our lineup and in the middle of the infield. He's been a leader in every sense of the word and he has worked tirelessly to earn everything that has come his way. I'm very excited for Adam as he moves on to State Fair, which Coach Kindle has turned into a top junior college program in Region 16.”
