S-C’s Snyder to Play Softball at Murray State College
Smith-Cotton High School senior pitcher Addison Snyder has accepted an athletic scholarship to play softball at Murray State College in Tishomingo, Okla.
Snyder, the daughter of Shelly and Anthony Snyder, is a four-year varsity player for the Tigers softball team. She racked up 383 strikeouts in her career and once pitched 20 innings in a single game.
Snyder holds the school records for wins, assists, innings pitched in a season, strikeouts in a season, and lowest earned-run average. She was S-C Softball’s Defensive Player of the Year for 2025. Honors earned include All-Conference Second Team, All-District First and Second Team and Academic All-State three times.
Snyder joins a Murray State program that has a championship legacy. The Lady Aggies
have won five consecutive Southwest Plains District Championships and nine straight
NJCAA Region 2 Division II titles. That level of performance grabbed Snyder’s attention.
“Went I went down there, it felt like home – the people, the culture, the coaches, everything they have going on down there, I love it,” she said. “Going to a historically great program also made it a very easy decision. I am just so excited to learn and equip myself better and, hopefully after two years, move on to another really great school.”

S-C Softball Head Coach Amy Miller said: “Addison Snyder is the heart and soul of the
softball team, the undeniable glue that holds everyone together. As the senior leader,
she exemplifies what it means to be dedicated, both on and off the field. Her unwavering work ethic and passion for the game shine through in every pitch, and her leadership is evident in the way she supports and motivates her teammates.
"This season, Addison has been a force to be reckoned with, striking out an impressive 165 batters, all while maintaining an outstanding strikeout-to-walk ratio of 13:1. Off the field, she is equally remarkable — kind, caring, and always putting others first. Her senior year represents not just her athletic achievements but the heart and drive she brings to the team every day. Addison isn’t just a player; she’s the backbone of the team, and her impact goes far beyond statistics."
