Perry, the son of Heather Kessing, is a four-year varsity letter winner at Smith-Cotton, serving as captain of the Tigers football team and for the track throws team. He holds the S-C record in the boys javelin, throwing 50.64 meters.

S-C Track and Field Head Coach Charlie McFail said, “Dalton has worked hard throughout his high school career. He set goals, developed a plan to achieve them, then set that plan in action. I expect to continue to see good things from Dalton during his collegiate career.”

Perry said the Billikens welcomed him on his visit, making his decision easier. “I had a few offers elsewhere and, truthfully, when you go up on your visit and take in the environment, it was just amazing,” he said. “Being able to see The Arch from the field, all around it was beautiful. It felt like a place I could fit right in. Everyone was so nice and welcoming.”

Perry also stressed the academic opportunities at SLU. “I’m very excited to get a good education and compete at a high level there,” he said.
